White Birch Books has been serving the Mt. Washington Valley since 1992 – almost 30 years! The goals have been the same from the day the doors opened through this crazy year we are making our way through: to promote and support a community of readers for locals and visitors alike. Our small but dedicated staff works hard every day to make this happen and we appreciate all the support. Running a bookstore is a labor of love and it would not be worth it without our readers, authors, customers and patrons. Thank you!
Shopping in the time of COVID!
As with many stores, we have recently relaxed our mask requirement in the store. Wearing a mask is now optional. You will see some of our staffers wearing them and some not – the choice is personal. We are still asking you to be aware of social distancing and we will continue to provide hand sanitizer. We are still happy to offer curbside service and even delivery if we can arrange it. As always, there is online shopping as well. In a word, we are flexible and will try to meet the needs of our customers as best we can!
Book Groups and other Events
Book Groups are back in person! We are so happy to see each other again and have been enjoying our discussions immensely. Chairs are a little more spread out than before, and members are always welcome to wear masks if they feel more comfortable. We will continue to discuss this as we go through the summer and will follow the current news to operate safely. As always, details will be on the Book Group page so check there so you can stay in touch! Looking forward, we are working on our events schedule and are trying to build in-person author events. Stay tuned for details.

Thank you for your continued support.
This bookstore – along with all of our local stores and restaurants – survives because you shop here, and we are constantly thankful for it. I’ve always said that our customers are the best customers and this past year has shown that to be true in spades.
As always, if you have any questions, please be in touch.
